The foundation of the Group was laid by Late Shri. N. K. Firodia freedom fighter and pioneering industrialist.

He gave India two paradigms - the concept of 'low cost public transport' - the Autorikshaw (a word he coined that now finds a place in the Oxford Dictionary). The Tempo Matador was the first diesel light commercial vehicle in India.The word Tempo (a registered trade mark of Daimler) is now generic for any small goods carrier in India.

1948

1958

Production of Tempo 3-wheeler;'Hanseat' started at goregaon, Mumbai.

1964

The manufacture of TEMPO VIKING 4-wheeler commercial vehicle commences.

1969

The production of MATADOR diesel Light Commercial Vehicle begins.

1982

The company, in collaboration with the then Daimler Benz, produces the Mercedes Benz OM 616 engine under license.

1987

The Tempo Traveller - production begins at Pithampur.

1988

The Tempo Trax, rough road vehicle is introduced.

1996

Force Motors introduced a new range of 3-wheelers called MINIDOR in pick-up and auto rickshaw models.

1997

The company enters the field of agricultural tractors with Balwan.

1999

The EXCEL range of state-of-the-art Light Commercial Vehicles was introduced. These vehicles with their superb ergonomics and superior aggregates represented the latest generation of LCVs in India.

2000

Full range of production of Trax range of vehicles achieved.

2003

The company enters into an alliance with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG.

2006

New state-of-the-art HCV manufacturing facility was inaugurated at Pithampur.

2008

Force Motors launched Traveller Shaktiman, Traveller Luxury and Traveller Smooth.

2010

New Cathodic Electro-deposition paint shop inaugurated at Pithampur, Indore.

2011

Force Motors launched its first offering in the Personal Vehicles segment, the FORCE ONE.

2012

Force Motors introduces a revolutionary passenger vehicle, Traveller 26.

2013

Force Motors introduces Gurkha, the Extreme Off-Roader Vehicle.

2014

Force Gurkha RFC India 2014 - Force Gurkha secured the Top Two positions in RFC India 2014.

2014

Traveller School Bus- Force Motors launched Traveller School Bus with Child Bus Tracker (CBT) feature.

2014

Chennai Plant (2015)- Force Motors inaugurated its Chennai plant, which will produce and test engines for BMW Cars and SUVs made in India.

2015

Force Gurkha RFC India 2015 - Force Gurkha won the Top Two positions in RFC India 2015 second time in a row.

2015

Trax Deluxe - Force Motors launches the Trax Deluxe with AC across dealerships nationwide.

2016

Force Motors inaugurated its new plant at Chakan, MH on June 22, 2016. This state-of-the-art plant will produce engines and axles for all Mercedes Benz cars and SUVs made in India.

2016

Team Force Gurkha lifts the RFC India 2016 Team Trophy. Individual teams also sweep the second, third and fourth positions!.

2017

Force Motors introduced All-new Force Gurkha range.
