Founded by Shri N.K. Firodia in 1958, Force Motors is the flagship company of the Dr. Abhay Firodia Group of Companies. Inspired by the vision and passion of its founder, the group is one of India’s pioneering industrial houses, with a strong focus on the automotive sector.
Beyond its commitment to delivering affordable, reliable and efficient mobility solutions for the masses, the Group also places deep emphasis on contributing to society through the Shri Firodia Trust. The trust actively supports various CSR initiatives that aim to give back to the community, ranging from medical relief, establishing educational institutions and spiritual advancement to the promotion of Indian culture, history and philosophy.
One of its most recent and significant endeavours is the Abhay Prabhavana Museum, envisioned and led by Dr. Abhay Firodia. The museum is dedicated to presenting the timeless values of Jainism through a scientific, logical and contemporary lens, making it accessible and engaging for all. The word Prabhavana signifies a selfless gift to society, offered for the collective good. Developed over a decade in collaboration with Jain scholars, thought leaders, artists and facilitators, this center stands as a testament to the group’s commitment to cultural and ethical enrichment.

Production of Tempo 3-wheeler: ‘Hanseat’ started at Goregaon, Mumbai.

1964
Manufacturing of TEMPO VIKING 4-wheeler commercial vehicle commences.

1969
The production of MATADOR diesel Light Commercial Vehicle begins.

1982
The company in collaboration with then Daimler Benz, produces the Mercedes-Benz OM 616 engine.

1988
Force Motors introduced its rough road vehicle -The Tempo Trax.

1996
Force Motors introduced a new range of 3-wheelers called MINIDOR in pick-up and auto rickshaw models.

1997
The company enters the field of agricultural tractors with BALWAN.

1999
The EXCEL range of Light Commercial Vehicles was introduced. These vehicles with their superb ergonomics and superior aggregates represented the latest generation of LCVs in India.

2003
The company enters into an alliance with MAN Nutzfahrzeuge AG.

2006
New state-of-the-art Heavy Commercial Vehicle manufacturing facility was inaugurated at Pithampur.

2011
Force Motors launched its first offering in the Personal Vehicles segment, the FORCE ONE.

2013
Force Motors introduced the iconic Gurkha, the extreme off-roader.

2014
Force Motors inaugurated its Chennai plant, to produce and test engines for BMW Cars and SUVs made in India.

2016
Force Motors inaugurated its new plant at Chakan in Pune. This state-of-the-art plant produces engines and axles for all Mercedes-Benz cars and SUVs made in India.

2017
Force Motors launched KARGO KING PICKUP, the latest offering on the proven Trax platform

2018
Force Motors signs an agreement with Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG to set up a joint venture to make in India and supply worldwide their renowned Series 1600 MTU engines (545 to 950hp) for power generation and under floor rail applications.

2019
Force Motor’s Monobus was introduced.

2020
New GURKHA Launched.

Introducing ORCHARD 4×4.

Force Motors introduced URBANIA – a premium shared mobility solution.
